Industry Standards
The Association is updating the original Code of Practice to reflect the introduction of regulations under the Hazardous Substances and New Organism Act. The 2001 HSNO Regulations impose requirements on perchloroethylene drycleaners, including the need for Approved Handlers, once the solvent becomes a transferred substance.
Research
The Association actively supports and maintains a close liaison with AgResearch (ex Canesis Network Ltd). AgResearch offers a very comprehensive range of testing procedures and analysis systems.
Workshops & Seminars
District branches organise seminars, technical/special interest evenings and plant visits for members. Social occasions are also organised by district branches for members to enjoy and to share experiences.
Bienniel Conference
The Bienniel Conference is held in September with the next one in 2020. The conference gives the members the opportunity to meet, exchange views, discuss problems and listen to guest speakers talking on subjects of vital concern to all. An Executive Committee is elected at the AGM each September and occurs within the extended conference programme during a conference year.
